I,
Alas but not only,
Hence forth and thus,
To be the only that thine know,
Cause has amounted to thee,
Which only made sense that,
Need be sometime understood.
Time can tell which unknown,
Truly reaches out past the land,
Into who usually tells is so.
Impervious is the leader that is,
Following behind the wall of disbelief,
The lights stringing aloof,
Until the rumbling earth shatters.
Cats scamper to the hills,
Yet you forlorn continuous,
Yelling lover twiddle thumbs,
For their battles suffer not yours.
Lines and copper strings break,
Passing through vindictive communications,
Calmly deceiving thy own namesake.
Tis too soon and yet too far,
Calm, serene, but golden glistening.
Towards barred up cells thy cries urge thee,
But hence no more the mighty stakes,
Which heaven keeps no more.
Depths dwell internal suffering,
The night of the living sun,
Brushing tears away,
Causing a time until shortly before.
Brutus surrounds the ghastly circle,
Cleaning up the bloody course.
My job was until the ante bellum,
Waiting and watching,
Searching the lighthouse painted on the sign.
Thine own closure forgot,
Be not seen by mental eye alone,
Till the pain at last foreclosed,
And the walls boarded up for sale.
The bells ring solid,
Pushing guilt back into thy pores,
As forward memories bellow,
Posing life lessons above.
Questions arise alifting,
Sinking below, to, from, and back again,
Until insurmountable evidence includes.
The twisted voice of treason,
Your eyes scream out beside,
And yet thy stare exceeds thee,
To include merry trotting young lessons.
Ping goes the Canaan caller,
Pushing limits to and towards,
Stopping at the worlds great edge,
Loving yee olde innocence as she goes.

Serious Monologue
You always told me to be strong,
no matter what, you'd always be here.
Well look at you now, laying there in that bed.
I doubt you can even hear me.
But I'm gonna talk anyways,
because that's the only way I can stay strong.
These past few weeks, they've been painful.
Your parents are talking about pulling that plug, you know.
Makes 'em sick, watching you lay there.
You're already dead to them.
But not me.
You're way too alive to me.
Remember the night up at the ridge?
You took me right up to the edge,
held me in your arms and told me,
"If you ever fall, I will ALWAYS be there to catch you."
But look now,
you fall, once, and I can't do a thing.
You rode that bike every day,
nothing was too dare-devilish for you.
I saw how careful you are,
I KNOW how careful you are.
If only that dog hadn't run across the highway,
if only you'd hit it.
You should be with me and the dog like this!
It shouldn't be this way!!!
I can't lose you,
not now. not this way.
You gotta stay here with me, to catch me when I fall.
God knows I'll fall.
I can't stay at my house,
your place was the only one I've ever called "home".
If I go back he'll hit me again and you know I'll fall.
I'll fall without your love,
I need you to hold my hand.
I love you so much.
Please come back, I can't let you go.
Please...
Nurse!
Nurse, he's opened his eyes, come quick!
no matter what, you'd always be here.

Short Monologue
It's funny how christmas time always brings out the cheerfulness in others.
How they give money and donate clothes,
give away toys and help others.
The merriment hangs in the air and it feels like time has stood still.
It's like during christmas time we all stand back away from our problems and just take in the holiday.
But ya know,
there's still troubles. There are still problems.
We're still having a hard time with bills and tuitions and life.
Work still sucks, we're still getting nagged to "pick up and help out",
and the world is still the miserable place that it's always been.
But there's christmas trees.
And lights.
Oh lord the lights,
now I gotta go back into that store and get some more lights.
Why? Because my wife told me to,
and if I don't she'll never let me live it down.
Now I have to hold my ears shut and run,
just so I'm in there for even less time.
But of course the lines will be up through the aisles and racks of clothes.
Why do we all come here?
To look for the best price,
because when we're getting presents we don't need for people we don't like,
we want to be cheap.
The lowest price is the best right?
Because Mattel hasn't sold enough toxic toys for tots quite yet.
But then, call me a hippocrite, I'm here like the rest of those screaming parents,
crying babies in the shopping carts,
and employees that can't even speak english.
So, no, I don't have any change to spare,
because I've given up on this stupid time,
time for family, sharing, love, happiness, harmony.
It never works out the right way anyways.
The ham is still overcooked,
the potatoes aren't seasoned,
the gravy's burnt,
and that stupid baby just screams through the whole meal.
Why would I want to help someone else?
I'm too busy drowning in my own misery,
too busy putting up the tree and putting on the ornaments.
Too busy pounding my thumb with a hammer while I attempt to attach the lights to the house.
What's your cause anyways?
I mean it's not like I've ever SEEN the salvation army go give clothes.
Or shelter. Or money.
It's probably just some stupid business trying to steal our tax dollars that we slave for hours over just to give away.
So you know what,
I'm not wasting any more money than I've already given to hand over to a stupid woman in a fat coat and a stocking cap just to be "merry" and "in the spirit".
So go ahead, continue ringing that bell.
I'll be out after I've got those damned lights.
Bah Humbug.
